We currently have the following RPN job line available in Long Term Care (LTC):

Permanent Part Time – 30 hours bi-weekly

Week 1: Mon (0600-1400) Sat (0600-1400) Sun (0600-1400)

Week 2: Thurs (0600-1400)

Week 3: Mon (1400-2200) Sat (1400-2200) Sun (1400-2200)

Week 4: Fri (1400-2200)

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The RPN shall provide professional care to residents and support and coordinate nursing care given by Personal Support Workers within the Long-Term Care Unit. The RPN is required to support the Registered Nurse to oversee and coordinate all activities necessary for the operations of the unit. The RPN shall work closely with the Director Of Care (DOC) and other members of the multidisciplinary team, including attending physicians, therapists and personnel from other departments. These responsibilities shall be carried out in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, mission and philosophy, the Collective Agreement and applicable legislation and regulations while maintaining a high standard of nursing care and comfort for the residents.

This position is accountable to the Code of Conduct set by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), which provides regulatory clarity and establishes guidance of all registered nurses regardless of their role, job description or practice setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current and active registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, creative problem solving, conflict resolution and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in the English language, both written and verbal.
