ROLE OBJECTIVE

Our team of Activation Therapists are required to show their willingness to go above and beyond, to learn new skills and flexibility to adapt quickly to the different levels of care. The Activation Therapist is responsible for planning programs and assisting our residents by facilitating and participating in activities within our Long-Term Care Facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are completed with great sensitivity and compassion, in order to make people feel happier, healthier, and more comfortable.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Diploma in Recreation/Leisure studies from a community college or university.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a Long-Term Care Facility.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An organized, efficient and flexible approach to the job, as well as good problem-solving abilities.
  • Time management skills and the ability to meet the needs of several clients at one time.
  • A high level of patience, compassion and emotional resilience are “essential.”
  • We are looking for somebody who able to demonstrate character traits such as empathy, flexibility and the ability to provide warm encouragement.
